ThepracticaluseoftheGangingfunctionconsistsinthepossibilityofeditingwithidenticalvaluestheparameters
ofsimilarelements,carryingoutsingle(insteadofdouble)operations.
Forexample,it'spossibletosetthesameDelayvalueorequalizationonbothinputswithjustoneoperation;
orsetidenticalXoverparametersforthevariousoutputsfedtoastereosoundsystem;oryetagain,enablethe
LIMITERsimultaneouslyonthetwooutputsdedicatedtotwomonostagemonitors.
Thesystemautomaticallyrecognizesincompatibleelementscontainedinthevariousconfigurationsandonly
enablestheGangingfunctionwhereitcaneffectivelybeused.Therefore,theGangingfunctiondoesn'thave
anyeffectontheMONOsetups.TheGangingfunctioncanbeenabledseparatelyforbothgroupsofinputand
groupsofoutputs.
IMPORTANT: Preciselyforitscharacteristics,theGangingfunctionaffectsthewayinwhichtherelativepara-
metersaudioareeditedorrepresented:
AssoonasInputsand/orOutputsareganged,thevariousmenupagesonlyshowthevaluesthatcanactually
beused.Thishoweverdoesn'tmeanthatthevalueschangeimmediately.Onthecontrary,thevaluesremain
unchanged(Evenifnotshown)untilnewvaluesareentered.Onlyatthatpointganged,Inputsand/orOutputs
assumethesamevaluewiththejustoneoperation.
Forexample,evenifthedisplayshowsthat"InputA&B"aregangedinthepagewithacertainparameter,the
valueshownremainsthatofInputAuntilanewvalueisentered,asInputBdoesn'tautomaticallyassumethe
valuesofInputA.
ThisconditionisusedtoavoidaccidentalortemporaryenablingoftheGangingfunctionfromchangingthevalues
ofallthestoredPRESET.Therulecanbesummedupasfollows:"onlythevaluesthathavetobeintentionally
changedarechanged".
Sogenerallyspeaking,toavoidcontradictions,oversightsandconfusionbetweenwhatisshownandwhatis
effectivelycarriedout,itsadvisabletoenabletheGangingfunctionsbeforestartingtoeditaPRESET.Moreover,
itsbesttomakecertaintoeffectivelysettherequiredvalue,manuallyconfirmingalltheparametersrequired.
Note: TheelementsinGangingassumethe"new"valueassoonastheDIALchangesthestatusofthe"old"
value.So,ifthevaluewhichhastobeallocatedtotheelementsinGangingisthesameastheoldvalue,it's
necessarytousetheDIAL,temporarilychangethevalue(evenonlybyonestep)andthengobacktothe"old"
value.
